Nemes Dive Academy - Holborourgh Lake
A new dive site situated in Kent. Access is currently a little tricky as it is positioned behind a construction site, but not a big problem as there is a tarmac road all the way to the Lake. Maximum depth is 11m with a training platform at this depth, a second training platform is at 6m. There is also boat, a car and a large tyre, but more attractions are planned for 2010. Visibility can be poor after rain, because of the building site nearby and the silty bottom is easily disturbed by finning divers. But this beautiful little lake has plenty of potential and is a quite site away from the hoards of divers (at the moment). With friendly staff, free tee and coffee served between dives its worth a dip.
Update Feb 2010
Well we haven't had much rain recently so we thought that we would check this site out again. I am happy to say that the vis was pretty good at 3-6M and we found the gnome garden this time. The second boat has now been sunk and with all attractions roped navigation is easy. Water Temperature was down to 4c (not a surprise considering the recent weather), but with ample amounts of free coffee and a heated changing rooms we soon warmed up.
Update Oct 2011
Much work has been put into this site since our last update. The Pontoon has been extended, more attractions added, the car park is being expanded and and work has started on the new shop and facilities. Its not a surprise that this is fast becoming the most popular inland dive site in Kent.
